Black Diamond and the Calgary Flames Alumni Heat up Fort Nelson

On December 1, 2010, Black Diamond Group created a special day for the kids of Fort Nelson, BC by bringing a team of former Calgary Flames players -- led by hockey icons Lanny McDonald and Jim Peplinski plus Danielle Goyette from the Women’s Canadian National Team --to the community for a day of inspiration, leadership and hockey. The team spent the morning visiting two local schools, then met with the local business community for lunch, and finished the day off playing a fun game of hockey with some youth players from the community. The entire day was sponsored by Black Diamond and a group of our industry partners. At the end of the day a $60,000 donation was also made to the town’s new recreation centre and the Fort Nelson First Nation’s school as a gift to commemorate the day.
